Insulting the genitalia of gun owners is ridiculous, childish and accomplishes nothing

I'm not a gun owner, I don't plan on owning any and I think most (though obviously not all) gun owners are paranoid fools, as proven by the surge in sales after Obama's reelection and ones screaming about how the big bad gubmint wants to take their guns away. But these type of insults are quite counterproductive and go nowhere. They serve no purpose but making the anti-gun side look just as petty and childish and provide evidence to the claims that said people aren't concerned about public safety but simply hate guns and gun owners. They insult more rational gun owners and serve to alienate such people who aren't insane gun nuts and would be open to more restrictions. And they make no sense in regards to the many female gun owners.

Seriously this line of "argument" needs to stop. It's a lot like trashing Ann Coulter for her looks instead of the drivel she says.

There are a few women out there who are obsessed with penis size, and many more who see it as a convenient bludgeon to get revenge on men for all the unfairness and mistreatment that women have endured through the years.

But two wrongs don't make a right.

Mostly, I object to the attitude that having a small penis is a horrible, horrible thing and one of the ultimate ways of insulting a man. I think this "size is everything" attitude is very harmful to some, mostly younger, men. As the father of boys, I wish we could get away from this sort of thing.

But I think using "small-penis" as an insult just reinforces some young men's anxieties about this sort of thing. Heck, it isn't just the young men. It was the old dudes who were buying up all those "enhancement" products. I personally know a guy (NOT ME!!) who bought one of those penis pumps to try and increase his size. This is madness, and I want young men to grow up knowing and understanding that if they are anywhere near normal that is is a non-issue.

But the point I was trying to make is that it isn't *only* men who bring this up. It's mostly men, but some women love to bring this up too.

we think of all kinds of denigrating language for a woman. and we hear it often here on du. the only real insult for a man, denigration for a man is the dig at his size, unless we use sexist language accusing him of being a woman which is ultimately a denigration to a woman.

that is a tough one, i know.

so when i hear men using sexist language toward women, with the sole purpose of putting me and women in our place, then told to lighten up, or suck it up, cause it is their right to denigrate me, i want to go to that. that is the only thing that is equal to what so many do to women on du, the net, the streets, everywhere.

First they defrauded the AF and Army, then, for good measure, they fleeced the American populace...

It took a couple of bottles of Jack, a Weekend on a ranch and some Bang Bang with Curtis the great - and it worked. But don't talk about the corpses they shot, for good fun - they're still quite embarrassed about that, buy hey, those were the days, weren't they? And to think that they're still ongoing. This is truly the greatest fucking country in the world.

If this sounds too cryptic to the reader; study the history of the AR-15. It is an essential all-American story. More so even than the history of the F-15. Corporate America at its most blatant. I'd be in the right mind to flush the whole PR "industry" down the same drain as the corporate state, the military-inudstrial complex and all that once we get to it...

Of course what you fail to realize is that often delicate flower plants have thorns. Why is this?

Why Do Flowers Have Thorns?
By Barbara Bryant, eHow Contributor

Protection
An article in the journal "Ecology" indicates that plants grow sharp thorns to protect them from being eaten by herbivores (plant-eating animals). Researchers cited as proof that keeping a type of thorned shrub from animal predators for several generations reduced thorn growth from one generation to the next. The plants with fewer thorns produced more seeds, an indication that thorned plants divert energy they would have used for reproduction to protect themselves.

***snip***

Animal Behavior
Researchers exposed plants with thorns and those from which the thorns were removed to goats and giraffes. Both animals foraged more heavily on the thornless group. Branches the giraffes could reach grew more and longer thorns than those they couldn't.

Read more: Why Do Flowers Have Thorns? | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/facts_5729867_do-flowers-thorns_.html#ixzz2H89UwKL8

So perhaps I am indeed a delicate flower. I have adapted to the fact that there are animals in our society who would love the opportunity to prey on me. My sharp thorns are the bullets in my handgun or the rounds in my shotgun.

However some flower plants do not have thorns. Their species never seen the need to adapt to the environment in this fashion. Unfortunately as pointed out in the article above, goats enjoyed eating them far more than plants with thorns.

So perhaps I am a rose and you are a tulip.

However I do find tired old insults like saying that I must using firearms to compensate for penile inadequacy somewhat boring after reading this thousands of times. Those who choose to insult gun owners should at least try to be somewhat original in my opinion.

Out of curiosity I googled to see if any reliable surveys have ever been conducted on male gun owners and their penis size. I did find one interesting and hilarious article on a survey of males with loud mufflers and their measurements. It's worth reading.
