When my dear husband and I married, he had 6 sets of grandparents/step grandparents and such. within the last 23 years we have been sad to lose them. Most were natural older age problems expected. One was a car crash that was pretty horrific and heroic at the same time. All he has left his his step grandpy and grammy. Many thought they would be some of the first to go, but thankfully they did not. He passed away yesterday at the age of 88. While we are sad, we had been expecting this any day since Christmas. We will send him off in style and then worry about his wife of 64 years and how much longer we will have her. They were very close, went through hardships together with grace. She had her first heart attack before she was 50 and where they lived, technology wasn't the best. She is a walking miracle. However, losing her husband after 64 years and her becoming very diabetic in the last year has all taken a toll on her. She just turned 90. We fear it will be just a matter of weeks and we will have lost all of hubby's grandparents.
