In 2008, the North Coast Journal printed the names of Humboldt County's CCW holders on its front page -- 641 names in a montage graphic -- accompanied by an article called "Pistol Packing People".
The graphic with all the names of CCW holders looked like this:
The following week, the Journal printed an editorial called "Unconcealed", defending its publication.
And if you are against a list of concealed weapons permitees on such grounds, why wouldnt you be twice as concerned about the vital records the obituaries, etc.? Where would a newspaper-scanning thug be more likely to find soft targets?
Surely, if these permit holders were irreparably damaged in 2008, we would've heard about it by now? If they were put in such grave danger, if any one of them were subjected to the horrors imagined in this thread, wouldn't that case be elevated and spread far and wide to make the point?
Or is the arm-waving about The Journal News doing the same thing in 2012 just a bunch of hooey?

I keep hearing that gun owners are "responsible" but you wouldn't know it by the many frightening posts on The Journal News FB page. It doesn't matter what story they post, the gun folks are not letting up with some pretty vile and scary posts.
It's no wonder they have armed guards around the building.
If I worked there, I'd be terrified.
