went to the hospital last night. and WAS the place dirty.

Happy to report respiratory infection but with the way I was coughing I was sure it was pneumonia.

Anyways I'm there not really caring about my surroundings I just want to get well. BUT my wife is having a fit. NOTHING was cleaned. a used Oxygen mask hanging on the the wall. used gaze and tape on the floor. Used throw up bag. Bugs on the floor.

She took pictures and yes we where there 4 a.m. BUT you would think they would have one janitor on duty to keep up with things.

This was Jamison Hospital in New Castle. PA.

going into one. No telling what drug-resistant strains able to kill a horse are lurking in them. I guess that's why old hospitals are demolished instead of "re-purposed:" Who wants the germs of Christmas past floating about?

Mental images like this leave me wondering how anybody comes out of a hospital WITHOUT some kind of infection.

Good luck to you on your speedy recovery-stay OUT of the hospital!

No it's not, it's gross and unsanitary. I don't understand how you could even be put in that room.

I was happy with the quality of service there, I have also had my kids back to the ER many times for ear infections, stepped on nails, etc. and have always found the place clean and helpful. I think we have been lucky enough not to have to visit lately. It's too bad you had such a dismal experience.
But you also left out the part about the brand new, bigger ER and Surgical suites that are about to open this spring, maybe the transition to the new facility is not going to be smooth, but I think the hospital addition is something we can be proud of in New Castle.

YOU can keep Jameson. I wouldn't go back there willingly. I have never had a good experience with that place.

I don't know if online review statistics are at all meaningful, but I found this one:

Jameson Memorial Hospital is a Non-profit Acute Care Hospital located in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Of the 300 or more people surveyed, 50% indicated that they would definitely recommend this hospital, which is drastically worse than the average for all Hospitals.

to complain about everything. And also to whine about their taxes. Very Republican area, too.
