xpost from LGBT: BREAKING: SCOTUS will hear gay marriage cases on March 26 & 27

http://www.prop8trialtracker.com/2013/01/07/supreme-court-will-hear-marriage-cases-on-march-26-and-march-27/

We are seeking verification but we are seeing reports that the Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments in Hollingsworth v. Perry (the Prop 8 case) and United States v. Windsor (DOMA case) for March 26 and 27.

Back when the Court appointed an outside lawyer to argue against the Court’s jurisdiction in the DOMA case, there was speculation that arguments would occur over a span of a few days instead of a single one-hour session. It appears the Court has decided to hear the cases over two days.

We will have more information soon.

UPDATE 1 Scottie Thomaston: AFER is reporting that oral arguments for the Prop 8 case will be March 26. Arguments in Edith Windsor’s challenge to Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act will be March 27.
