Former President Bill Clinton is getting props for being a good dad.
Clinton was named the Father of the Year by the National Fathers Day Council on Wednesday
The group selected Clinton for his profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations, Dan Orwig, chairman of the National Fathers Day Committee, said in the announcement.

(30,247 posts)It was taken at the opening of the Clinton Library in Little Rock. Whatever faults Bill may have, he has been a great father. He and Hillary have been good parents and they have raised a daughter who would make any parent proud.
You're welcome.

(8,571 posts)so it was quite a treat. I love natural photos like that. You can really see the love between them.

(30,247 posts)I also like this photo from the same event.

(8,571 posts)it would look great as a black and white photo.
Beacool
(30,247 posts)It could be a matching companion to this one, which would also look great in black and white.

(8,571 posts)I love how she doesn't seem to care about the rain falling on or around her. I agree it would look great as a B&W. She is so beautiful

(30,247 posts)It's one of my favorite pics of her. She's a trooper. I've been at events where she would stay signing stuff and posing for pics until Huma would whisper that it was time to move on. Bill is even worse, his staff almost has to drag him out of events. He loves to talk to people and hear what they have to say.

Maybe they rebuilt their relationship after that, though.

(30,247 posts)But it's OK to have a zillion positive posts about other Democrats, right?
I will never apologize for thinking that both Clintons are good people and deserving of praise. Are they perfect? Of course not, no one is. I have personally seen what kind of person Hillary is since her years as a NY senator. In my book she's terrific.
As for your patronizing tone, you can stick up your a..

I just said it was cute...
What's wrong with cute?
Beacool
(30,247 posts)As for being positive about the Clintons, well someone has to be on this board. This is definitely not a Clinton friendly site.
Do you also go throw dirt at posts about Michelle's fashion choices or Obama's cool WH pics? If you do, then I'll say that you're at least even handed.

(2,522 posts)I'm an admirer of President Clinton, and acknowledge his "profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations", but what does that have to do with being a father in particular?
Beacool
(30,247 posts)But Bill has been a good father. It is evident that both Clintons adore their daughter and she adores them right back.

(10,624 posts)Not saying that he isn't a good father, but he had lots of advantages that other men do not have.

(30,247 posts)"there must have been some kind of payback, pressure or buyout for this - the way Clinton's do business."
Absolutely pathetic comment and more appropriate for a right wing site than here.
BTW, this is not a competition between Obama and Clinton.
Gee......

(30,247 posts)Yeah sure, Obama and his campaign were milk and honey. I could list plenty of examples too, but why bother?
BTW, the reference was to Obama's lack of experience. It was not to imply that McCain would be a better choice, but that Hillary would be a better candidate against McCain. The economic collapse took care of that. At that point the Democrats could have run Mickey Mouse and the Republicans would have still lost.
