Lets talk about Executive orders and Gun Control

Let's understand first what an executive order is.
It is an order from the President to execute a specific thing to a federal agency.

It's not a new law , only congress can pass a law.
So what can the President do with an executive order on gun control.

1. He can block the importation of surplus ammo
2. He can block the importation of magazines.
3. He can block the importation of certain firearms

I'm sure the NRA would approve, though.

You guys are really scared, mm?

I suspect the President (and many past Presidents) see additional options.

Limited thinking is a typical conservative trait. Maybe someday you'll shake it.

That's the point of the thread.
If you know something else that is constitutional and could pass any legal objections please post the idea.

The powers of being Commander in Chief of the military do not automatically include the power to legislate for non-war-related means within the United states.

My take is he could do a bit more than you outlined, but there are very clear limits.

IMO the Legislative branch really wants the President to go the EO route and take the heat of of them.
