I don't even ... I Love James Holmes: An Admirer Opens Up About Her Crush

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/01/09/a-james-holmes-admirer-opens-about-her-crush-he-s-not-an-animal.html

“It seems crazy, but I’m not crazy,” Misty Benjamin, 30, says of her hair. “I wanted something that if he saw me he knew it would be me—a supporter.” An Aurora resident who lives just four miles from the apartment Holmes set up as an explosive booby trap on the day of the massacre, Benjamin has been watching the trial from an overflow courtroom at the Arapahoe County courthouse.

“Even after everything I heard, I can still say I can still support this human being,” she says after the day’s proceedings. “He is not an animal. I don’t think he is a bad guy. What he did was bad.”

But at least she's not a conspiracy theorist!

Indeed, posts about breaking Holmes out of jail and the notion that the 24-year-old was set up by the government are common on “Holmie” forums. Benjamin disagrees. “It makes people who actually care for James look horrible. I am more realistic than them ... I think conspiracy theories take away from his intellect. By saying the government did this, it takes away from his agency and ability to speak.”

Thank God for that.

They don't have assault weapons and don't normally show up in movie theaters to kill lots of innocent people with them. Duh.

He ain't got no Holmies. This woman is whacked. She has his picture on her wall and it calms her down. Maybe she could get some crime scene pictures to go with it.

What he did turns her on.

Richard Ramirez has groupies and married one of them while on death row.

Killer groupies an unexplained mystery

By Stefan Tomik
San Francisco Chronicle
September 28, 2009

Even in his death row cell, satanic serial killer and rapist Richard Ramirez, the "Night Stalker,"receives bags of mail. And of the dozens of people who try to contact him each year, officials say, about 90 percent are women.

It's not just Ramirez who gets the attention, nor is Scott Peterson alone in the way he attracted admiring women even after he was sentenced to die for killing his wife and unborn child.

Death row prisoners often join the horde of grooms married in group ceremonies such as the one planned Saturday at San Quentin State Prison.

It's a phenomenon that's little understood and seldom studied: Women who fall hopelessly in love - or at the least become wildly infatuated -with the most feared killers.

...that some women are attracted to the "bad boys". Some of it is for a thrill in their lives along with being dominated...it's definitely a phenomenon that's been around for a long time that would make a fascinating study. I think it goes further as look at how popular prison shows have become in recent years...there's a fascination with the more violent and notorious elements in our society.

And even had a kid by him.

There's no telling what goes on in the minds of some people.

It does seem to happen all the time, though. One of the first I was aware of was the case of Robert Chambers back in the 80's. He killed Jennifer Levin and claimed it was rough sex. She was 18. He was getting marriage proposals in jail. I can only imagine if there'd been things like Facebook then.

and might still. I can only guess at her motivations. I'm guessing she enjoys seeing herself as someone with much, much, much more compassion and understanding than the average person.

Loving the unlovable. That sort of thing.

It ain't healthy.
