So Mika apologized to Joe Scarborough...

(Yes, I know this topic does not interest many of you - save us both time and just move on and read something else.)

------

""I said the way you're acting is chauvinistic, especially the way you were handling this conversation," she said. "It's not funny."

Later, Brzezinski apologized for her choice of words.

"Now that things are less heated, I didn't like the approach that you took, but just for the record, you are not a chauvinist," she said. "I apologize for calling you one."
-------

I've never seen so much outrage against Joe. And everyone is criticizing Mika for apologizing. Does her apology really weaken any bit of what she said though? To me it just underscores the validity of her assertion that Joe's behavior was chauvinistic.

Or am I kidding myself??

I was embarrassed for her. She can never really debate him because her arguments are so muddled, and she uses weak words that don't always fit the argument. He is the king of straw man stances - exaggerated hyperbole that makes him look like a fool. He's also a bully, and no one ever calls him on it. Whenever he goes on one of his childish tirades, everybody gets quiet and is afraid to say anything. You can just feel the tension oozing off the TV screen.

I would hate to be a regular on that panel. I hope the pay is worth it. It must be.

4. I have always thought that Joe sees himself as the second coming of O'Reilly.

Add to that his belief that serving six years in Congress made him an expert and you've got a deadly combination.
