President Obama is so powerful that he even has the power to silence the very talkativeBook of Mormonstar Josh Gad.
Gad was at the White House this week for a special presidential screening of his new NBC comedy1600 Pennand found himself unable to speak when Obama introduced himself.
"I was thinking this is going to be amazing, I have so much I want to say. And he walks in and I literally freeze," says Gad. "He shakes my hand and says, 'So great to meet you. How you feeling? How you doing?' All I could say was, 'Um, um, I'm better now.'"
"Oh my God. I don't think I've been at a loss for words. I'm unfortunately very verbose too often," says Gad. "I don't know what his impression was but you are meeting the leader of the free world on his home turf. It's not something you can prepare for."

(50,254 posts)It just doesn't work with THIS president in office, on many, many levels(though they did rip-off the "threaten the daughter's boyfriend with a drone attack" joke from Obama).

(25,934 posts)After all, this sitcom was likely 'in the can' before the election. Could it be that network execs were already banking on a RawMoney win?

"Scandal" with Kerry Washington is about D.C. politics including the White House and is actually interesting.

(15,682 posts)I've really enjoyed the show so far. Now awaiting the second season. I hope it's a longer season than the first which was crazy short, imo.
Walking Dead is the only other I can think of that I look forward to watching. And of course, they took a mid season hiatus. Once it's back on it will probably end after 3, maybe 4 shows at the most.
Cable television has its benefits, I guess. Large monthly fees. Shorter seasons. Terrible programs. Wait. Wat? Oh, yeah. I can watch marathons of Full House just about every day of the week.
