That is amazing. I had no idea that was true. I must post that graphic to my Facebook page.

Nice to meet everyone by the way. I am a brand new member.

Basically, minorities can't trust gun bans to be enforced fairly. There's probably some justice to that point.

But the OP was about the NRA. I am wondering if it is true or just something put on the internet.

It would be interesting to see the NRA's response if there were news reports of African-Americans legally purchasing guns in large numbers.

When we see the massive rise in gun purchases, we assume - correctly, I suspect - that the buyers are RW extremists, white, low education, low information, low economic status, and militia members or supporters. Sure, there are middle class gun owners; witness the revelation of the "gun owner next door" in that NY newspaper. But reports of large numbers of non-whites buying guns? Certianly would be interesting to see.

And the NRA historically backed African Americans right to own and us firearms to protect themselves from racist attacks.

Robert Williams and the Deacons for Defense opened 'shooting clubs' under the auspices of the NRA, using NRA materials and NRA instructors to train members to defend civil rights workers.
