Oh this is just tooo sweet...
Americans should be asking themselves this weekend why Michele Bachmann (R-MN), who won re-election this past November as a member of the House of Representatives, is refusing to pay five of her staffers for the work they did helping her try to win the presidential nomination.
Salon reported Thursday,
Peter Waldron, her controversial former national field coordinator, told Salon the dispute started when former Iowa straw poll staffers refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement that would bar them from discussing any unethical, immoral, or criminal activity they witnessed on the campaign with police or reporters.
What kind of employer, save perhaps for the mob, asks an employee to sign a statement barring them from discussing unethical, immoral, or criminal activity? Just what kind of activities was Michele Bachmann engaged in during her failed presidential run?
And here I thought it was just because she was cheap.

She should be investigated.

(529 posts)Republican status quo....and frequently toe the line between legal and illegal. All of us (with sanity) in Minnesota would like to see her go. Maybe someone will pay them in exchange for the beans being spilt.
She only won by 6000 votes or so last time. Should the Dems want to actually invest in this race in 2 years (maybe with Graves again), she could very well be a goner.

This story is important. Ive got five soldiers, as it were, five men who are willing to stand and not capitulate to this unnatural pressure that is coming from the Bachmann campaign. Its just immoral what theyre trying to do. Theyre trying to shut us up. You want to get paid? You gotta sign this agreement and not talk to either the police or lawyers, he continued.
Bachmanns campaign was marked by poor management. At one point in October of 2011, her entire New Hampshire staff quit en masse, in part because of a lack of payment. Waldron was brought on in July of 2011 by former campaign manager Ed Rollins, who quickly left the campaign and later publicly attacked his former candidate. Waldron said hes known Rollins since the late 1980s and made a tactical error in sticking with the campaign after his boss left.

(10,597 posts)... the CIA? Well, looks to me like the unpaid employees have the goods on her. Go for it. Sue her ass. Bring it all out, then MN will recall her and at least we won't have to hear her snide remarks and see her smirking face on the floor of the House any more. At least we would have a chance to gain another seat.

(5,668 posts)this happens often.. and so whomever pays the staff and you never hear about this. So well Michelle decided to make a big deal out of it. So of course they are bound to come up with something. Usually you pay them to shut up. And they probably will. Why she dragged her heals on this so long I have no idea. Now she made it even worse for her
