Well, the Algerian rescue' at the gas plant worked out well:

“@nytjim: "Rescue" mission. “@SkyNewsBreak: Algerian Interior Ministry confirms 23 hostages and 32 militants are dead at gas plant””

smh.....
I know that any rescue isn't a guaranteed success. I don't think this was a real attempt to rescue them. I think they wanted to blow hell out of the terrorists come what may.

Twitter is still second hand. It's a poor substitute for a real news outlet when one exists. Buzz Clik Jan 2013 #5

News of the failed rescue attempt has been reported by reliable sources. Why go with Twitter?

And, yes, sometimes "we don't negotiate with terrorists" really means just that.

I didn't. I am have been saying that a better plan to rescue the hostages could have ben prepared.

This tweet directly cites a valid source. Twitter is a news source. It depends on who you follow and where the news comes from. .

.... and the idea that given such a situation where several countries are "involved" because their citizens are hostages, just how long does anyone think it would take to create consensus for action? Twelth of never would be my best guess.

The Algerians did what they had to do.l
