12 years ago my wife and I attended an Inauguration.

The pResident's egg pelted darkened limo rushed past hundreds of thousands of us protesters, at 30 MPH for 80% of the Pennsylvania Avenue path, into the protected, fenced in 1%er area around the White House.

Times have changed.

I remember only C-span showing some protestors. I hope those eggs were rotten and stinky.

when I saw footage of it in Michael Moore's "Farenheit 9/11."

I wonder if it was from self-censorship on the part of the press, or if it was imposed by the administration...

I was unaware of DU at that time, or else I would have been better informed.

There was extremely poor coverage of it -- an evil harbinger of the next 8 years.

7. There were no agents around the limo by the time they reached us.

They had three layers of police, troopers, and military between us and the limos, SUVs, and buses driving faster than any agent could run.

Your experience sounds like something from 3rd world country! The MSM didn't want us to know.

They had snipers on rooftops and even flew planes overhead, full bananarepublic style and it was a disgrace. The crowds booed and the limo stoped from the pelting, like it wasn't going to happen. Brokaw whining about the profanities from the crowd, but he hadn't talked, none of them did, about Delay's Brooks Brothers riot of paid congressional staffers interfering with the vote counting. Of course, the media is fine with that, and they didn't report the voter disenfranchisement last year, either.
Okay if the GOP stops the voters. I was watching it on the major channels and CNN. Before they went GOP.

The air was thick with outrage. I saw the cars stop from the pelting. Unheard of that they got aways with it... Americans were not fooled, most of them. With all the scandals from his friends coming out, I thought Bush would not last a year until 911 and then he was golden in the media. Then they were cheering the wars and pumping up neo-cons. Now we see none of these characters, except in their protected circles in media and private organizations. For the most part, they have slunk off to undisclosed locations to enjoy their plunder.

Middle Eastern tyrants and looting and war is well-established. The fastest way to make a fortune is through war, it is all blood money of a sort. Destroy people by bombs or robbing the treasuries and run away with the resources. Except the Bush regime stole faster than any other in history and bankrupted the world. Not only did they steal money. oil and lives but the future lives of millions here and in Middle East.

I watched the evil unfold, all cheered by the entertainment industry to the news and thought, they are showing us what monsters we can be, taking us to the pit. They are destroying America's best ideals, making a mockery of everything to bring their dystopia for us and utopia for the super rich. They are doing it before our eyes, asking us to accept it.

I asked, is mankind learning at last to put this behind us? Will we have to be utterly destroyed to learn?

if everybody was pelting my limo with eggs. It's bad enough knowing that I had to have the SCOTUS cheat for me to become president, but the limo pelting only pours salt into the wound.
