Will this quote stand the test of time?

"My fellow Americans, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it - so long as we seize it together. For we, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it."

PRESIDENT OBAMA

Will it be one of those famous quotes we hear in sound bites from this point forward?

It's almost impossible to cement a famous quote these days. It's kind of a shame.

That said, I believe this quote is equally important as Kennedy's "Ask Not" speech.

but no, I don't see anything special about that quote.

And in reference to JFK famous quote, I know that is very memorable. But as to what it actually means, I don't like that either, in that to me it is appealing to patriotism and authoritarianism. Honestly, politicians in general really don't say profound or meaningful things by and large, in my opinion.

5. It's a great quote focusing on "we are all in this together" rather than pitting 'us' vs 'them'.

Maybe it's because it so recent but it does not seem to have the ring that will endure forever. Of course, some famous quotes from FDR, JFK, Lincoln and many others may not have been instantly appreciated but increased in popularity as time went on.

So yeah, these things do take time.

I was always impressed by Clinton's "There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be fixed by what is right with America" quote from his 1st Innaugural, but truth be told, that quote didn't stand out when I first heard the address live.
