Jan Brewer - Lying comes naturally..Arizona Governor Caught in a Lie

the President took her to task for lying in her book, but Lying comes naturally to Brewer -

"Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Caught in a Lie—a Lie About Nazis!"

Jan Brewer, imperial sun queen of Arizona’s chromatocracy, told the Arizona Republic that her father died fighting Nazis during World War II. The saga is very sad, except its tragedy is somewhat mitigated by the fact that it is extremely untrue. Brewer’s exact statement: “Knowing that my father died fighting the Nazi regime in Germany, that I lost him when I was 11 because of that ... and then to have them call me Hitler's daughter. It hurts. It's ugliness beyond anything I've ever experienced.”

See, The Arizona Guardian points out that Brewer’s father “worked as a civilian supervisor for a naval munitions depot in Hawthorne, Nev. He died of lung disease in 1955 in California.” Obviously this is essentially a semantics issue, retorts Brewer’s spokesperson.

Brewer attended Glendale Community College where she received a radiological technologist certificate, but never earned a degree... yep..she's insecure, and got called out by a Harvard educated US President

situation...it's that she went out of her way to once again play victim.

It's AMAZING to me how much the gop needs to play victim in order to drum up votes. They take offense any any little thing and make it into a campaign trail slogan...it's a strong pattern even reflected in presidential politics where 90% of talk radio that's conservative spends all their time being insulted by Obama's lack of lapel pin, by Obama's vacations on the public dime, the apology tour, his assault on Christianity, his wife's attitude, his wife's obvious willingness to dictate what we eat while gorging on fast food herself, his assault on our sacred constitution, the destruction of our way of life, Acorn's destruction of democracy, etc etc

The victim card is played HARD and when there's nothing to be upset about, they'll make it up. That's what Brewer did...for attention and to try to 'James Okeefe' the president.

I taught English for 8 years, from 5th grade students all the way up to 12th grade during my short life as a teacher. One of the things that drives teachers nuts when reading student papers is imprecise language. We all learn about dangling modifiers and misplaced modifiers and all the other "fun" grammar stuff in school...probably more so now since that is one of those easily testable things that find their way on to standardized tests because it require very little critical thinking skill. That being said, Brewer a) was intentionally misleading and playing the victim card by making people think her father died in combat with Nazis in Germany, b) is incredibly ignorant of common English conventions and their connotations, or c) a combination of both. In any case, from an English teachers perspective, the statement "“Knowing that my father died fighting the Nazi regime in Germany, that I lost him when I was 11 because of that ... " can be relatively easily diagrammed to prove that the implication is that her father died in Germany (not Nevada) while engaged in direct combat with the Nazis (not 10 years after as a result of medical complications due to work during the war effort).

The problem is that these people are just intelligent enough to manipulate their language to provide the tiniest bit of wiggle room when they are challenged so they can indignantly claim that they are being attacked or victims of "gotcha" journalism, however if their outrageous claims aren't fact checked, they convince the average citizen of egregious lies.

Just to stick the knife a little deeper, they are masters of propaganda, much like another fascist regime that used propaganda extremely effectively back in the late 30s and early 40s to further their extreme views...

When he took away Governor Janet Napolitano to head Homeland Security, then secretary of state Jan Brewer took over as governor, giving her time in the top spot to ride the anti-Mexican wave of SB1070 into another term.
