Just for fun if you do not like your job you can look up the series "Worst Jobs In The Middle Ages" series on Youtube.
I cannot imagine how human beings even survived such an existence.

In one example the host explained and demonstrated what a "fuller" is. Anyone with the name of Fuller probably had ancestors who did this jobs. During the middle ages in England and most like the rest of Europe after the Romans left civilization went downhill to feudalism. It was NOT a pretty existence.

Wool was the chief material for making clothes and sheep outnumbered people. When the wool was weaved into fabric it was still not good enough for clothing because it had too many gaps. It also had too much oil from the sheep. It had to go through a felting process so it could be sewn into clothing for royalty and the people. Serfs getting the leftovers.

WHAT A FULLER DID was cure the fabric. Cloth makers had to go out to the villages and farms to collect human urine and let it turn to ammonia. The raw wool cloth was put into containers and the containers were filled with fermented human urine. It was the FULLER'S job to walk on the fabric for as long as 8 hours barefooted in the urine until the cloth was cured or became felted.

After the process the fabric was washed and made into clothing. It did not smell because the wool did not absorb the urine
