and then if it's a series of videos, the same fucking commercial over and over and over again. I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to email companies and tell them their commercials are suckie and intrusive and I won't buy the products.
Yeah sure they need to sell, yeah sure the company with the video needs to make money advertising, but shit 10-30 or 20-15 second commercials in an hour????
Progressive commericals suck the worst. Phony.

(1,485 posts)the 5 or 10 seconds they give me before I can skip the commercial. Those seconds last forever. I would be immortal.

(4,440 posts)so I don't even see or hear the bullshit they spew in those commercials. Most of the time I succeed at not knowing what they're saying/selling but is still irritates me to have to deal with it at all.

Not really interested in TV shows that much though, I tend to watch music and technical how to videos which don't get as many ads.

(45,851 posts)Watched that one about the restoration shop with my neighbor a little while ago. I grew up doing that kind of stuff with my dad, he had a little shop where he rebuilt mechanical antiques, everything from music boxes to grandfather clocks to telescopes, sextants, barographs and so on. I just wish they'd show more of the actual techniques they use on the show because that's the part that interests me.
Most of that sort of thing I'd rather do than watch, was in two thrift stores today looking for vintage items in fact. I have a pair of Snap-On "Throttle" driving shoes in pristine condition I picked up some months back, I think you'd probably like them. I had no idea Snap-On even made shoes until I saw them in the Salvation Army store.

(39,191 posts)Love Snap-On tools, still made here.
Gave all of my tools away to a kid recently. I hadn't opened a drawer in years. I kept my Dad's 'spanner' though. It was his Dad's. Most of my tools from the 60's, 70's, 80's. And the kid LOVES them.
When you have a hard time getting up off the 'creeper' you know it's time to give away the wrenches....
be well my friend.
