McCain: Iran’s president is a monkey

Do anyone really think this man has the mental facilities to judge who would make a good SOS or SOD?

McCain: Iran’s president is a monkey
By Olivier Knox, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 26 mins ago

Oh, dear. Republican Sen. John McCain on Monday called Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a monkey. The blunt-speaking Arizona lawmaker leveled the jab via Twitter:

So Ahmadinejad wants to be first Iranian in space - wasn't he just there last week? "Iran launches monkey into space" news.yahoo.com/iran-launches-…

— John McCain (@SenJohnMcCain) February 4, 2013

It's not the first time McCain's comments about a foreign leader on Twitter have raised eyebrows. In August 2009, he tweeted about an "interesting meeting" with Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi, calling him "an interesting man."

McCain, long a fixture on the Senate Armed Services Committee, recently joined the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which vets nominees to senior diplomatic posts.

Disgraceful that any United States Senator would speak this way of any foreign leader regardless of the relationship between the two countries.

McCain should resign.

that McCain lost the 2008 election. Yes, we all know Ahmadinejad is a goofy fucker, but it's one thing for people like us to say nasty things about him on an Internet message board, and another thing entirely for a sitting member of the U.S. Senate to call a foreign head of state - even a goofy one - a monkey. Can you imagine what kind of diplomatic hot water he and Caribou Barbie might have got us into if they'd won?

Just saying...

But him calling a gay bashing, women hating, dictator a monkey isn't racist IMO.

Although I agree the old fart has no business in government.

a bunch of obscure, anonymous amateurs on an internet message board saying nasty things about either a president or a head of state, and a sitting Senator saying those things. Ahmadinejad is an unpleasant character, no doubt about it - but if you and I say that we are not speaking for our government. If a sitting United States Senator says it, it could at least be interpreted as the position of the United States. And that's how diplomatic efforts can go to hell in a hurry.
