The Elephant in the room is that Hagel was hated because he dared say Israel might be doing a few bad things. You know Tel Aviv is popping champagne tonight.

Bill Kristol, and Co.--and yet every talking point or smear against Hagel has come from the combo of the Washington Free Beacon (Kristol) and Jennifer Rubin's screed at the Washington Post (quoted by Inhofe at the hearing). It's all being choreographed off-stage from the RW pro-Israel nuts. I can see this, and I don't even care about Israel one way or the other, they're just another country to me and I have no dog in the I/P fight.
