there was a lot of pressure on Bush to attack Iran in his second term, and he never did.

Conversely, a Democrat could very well attack Iran. The possibility of Obama doing it appears to be getting more remote, but what about the next Democratic president? What about Hillary for example?

Katrina ripped the mask off of the complete incompetence of the Bush admin. It literally took dead bodies floating down the streets of New Orleans for the media to finally start questioning Bush.

Bush lost America completely after Katrina. No one was ever going to listen to him about invading another country.

Hillary, or any other Dem, won't invade Iran. They are not blind ideologues, esp. Hillary. As a former Sec. of State, she knows the world a lot better than any Republican.

A President Rubio would invade Iran simply to show that he's a big boy. Same is true for a President Pau Ryan.

Once Afghanistan is almost completely drawn down in the next year, the pressure to strike Iran will almost certainly ratchet up, and the GOP and the media will declare Obama's presidency a failure (at least on foreign policy grounds) if Iran does develop nuclear weapons. I think one morning in the next two years, we will wake up and hear about an airstrike, either by us or by Israel (which will involve us as well). I have little hope.

takes a while for people to forget ... for history to be buried or rewritten.

place. The fact that he was easily fooled once means we are virtually at war again already. Kerry, otherwise I love Kerry, but Sec of State who was fooled into a massive war, both of these men had seen war and felt we should do that to human beings to find those WMDs. No two ways around that fact. They were among the idiots, when so many others voted against that horror.
