Anybody who tells you they know what happened right before the shot is filling in the blanks with their own biases. There are still missing pieces and that's what the trial is for.

Anyone who follows another person, confronts them, and grabs at them in public, deserves to get their ass kicked. Zimmerman was looking for a fight, found one, proceeded to lose, and like a coward, pulled his gun. My only regret (besides a kid's death) is that Trayvon didn't incapacitate the shaved ape that attacked him. I hope this guy is convicted of murder 2, and tried for federal hate crimes. This is one of the few cases in which I would support the death penalty, I think that would send a clear message to all the other gun nuts that society will not tolerate this type of behavior.

But I haven't seen evidence Zimmerman initiated a physical confrontation. What happened between the initial verbal confrontation and the shot isn't clear, AFAIK. Maybe he did initiate it. But I don't know.

Not sure why that argument causes people to get their panties in a bunch.
