"I'm a big hawk on cutting the deficit. I was against the stimulus thing too," he said. "We shouldn't be bailing out the banks and car companies. If a CEO can't figure out how to make his company profitable, then he shouldn't be the CEO."

Why do you think Chrysler is still around Clint?

But then again this was only 3 months ago. It was a really stupid thing to say considering Chrysler was doing noticeably better at the time.

And there is no excuse for endorsing Herman Cain he was a joke from the beginning. I love Clint, but c'mon man.

It was a commercial for a car company. Sometimes things are how they appear. If you think Clint Eastwood doing a Chrysler commercial is the same as endorsing a candidate for President you're either nuts or need to turn off the election coverage for a few hours and get some fresh air.

It was his passive support of RP that I was inferring might not sit well with some here as the mere mention of his name draws unbridled antipathy for the man.

I asked around the room and some of the people with me remember seeing it. I guess there is just too much commotion where I am. I'm glad it aired though. I hope the Obama campaign was taking notes.

Eastwood may be a Republican. That doesn't bother me, cause he's awesome. He's also that rare critter who's a Republican because he's virulently independent and self-reliant, not because he hates poor people. I know people like this--they'd rather see the country succeed than the president fail.

Anyway, the man is a pro. The auto industry offered him a nice paycheck to do his thing and he gladly took it. Who the hell can have a problem with that? Maybe they'll hire Ed Asner next year.

ARGH! Why did Clint Eastwood do an auto bailout commercial?!?!

And most of the comments on that video reflect that sentiment. It's disgusting that the auto bailouts, which saved millions of jobs, prevented a depression, and led to the complete revival of the US auto industry, is still looked down upon simply because that "Kenyan Marxist Socialist Dear Leader Barry Soetoro" did it.

Anyone who thinks the auto bailouts were unsuccessful is uninformed. Anyone who knows they were successful, but still disapprove are lowlifes.

Really, they have nothing valid to attack Pres. Obama on. They can't say he's soft on terror, they can't say he didn't save and or create jobs, at this point, they can't say the economy hasn't gotten better. They really do have nothing to say, "This guy doesn't deserve another four years," unless they go racial and/or lie.
