You won't believe who actually said these quotes...

“As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice.”

“Woman’s world is her husband, her family, her children and her home. We do not find it right when she presses into the world of men.”

“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”

“Just look at the bill of fare served up in our movies, vaudeville and theaters, and you will hardly be able to deny that this is not the right kind of food, particularly for the youth…Theater, art, literature, cinema, press, posters, and window displays must be cleansed of all manifestations of our rotting world and placed in the service of a moral, political, and cultural idea.”

No not Fox News, Townhall.com, a Republican politician, or right wing talk radio. THIS link will reveal who it was: http://www.forwardprogressives.com/radical-republican-quotes-can-you-guess-who-said-what/

First one probably comes from the same source too.

The truth of this one is demonstrated every day in America all across the spectrum. Just tell them what they want to hear in terms so simple they can grasp it.

the public face was historically accurate. What no one ever seems to discuss is the same tactics were employed to stymie all legislation progress and polarize the law makers of the other parties. Seems as though the GOP has stolen a page out of the book of history.

2. Hitler and the “Big Lie”

The false Goebbels quotation above is actually a take-off on Hitler's familiar statement in Mein Kampf, which is often misunderstood. Hitler stated:

“In this they proceeded on the sound principle that the magnitude of a lie always contains a certain factor of credibility, since the great masses of the people in the very bottom of their hearts tend to be corrupted rather than consciously and purposely evil, and that, therefore, in view of the primitive simplicity of their minds, they more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a little one, since they themselves lie in little things, but would be ashamed of lies that were too big. Such a falsehood will never enter their heads, and they will not be able to believe in the possibility of such monstrous effrontery and infamous misrepresentation in others.…” (p. 231 of the Manheim translation)

Hitler is accusing the Jews the Vienna press of this strategy. It is often taken as evidence that Hitler advocated the “Big Lie.” He is, in fact, accusing his enemies of lying.

Now, Hitler was entirely willing to lie — but in public he insisted that he and his propaganda were truthful.

Many of our wealthy right-wingers were well connected to Hitler when he was in power. They haven't abandoned Hitler's pro-business ideas. They've just stopped using his name to support their ideology.
