So, maybe we should just have government-run malls.

Where the poor & disadvantaged can spend their government benefits. They can buy the food the government wants them to eat, the clothes that government wants them to wear and the movies the government wants them to watch. Good idea, right?

They can even get there on government-run transportation, which of course, will reduce their benefits. That transportation aint cheap, people. Theyre gonna have to understand.

We can put them in government-run housing where "needs" and prices are controlled by the government. A single mother doesnt "need" more than a one bedroom apartment. She can sleep on the foldaway in the living room. Hell, a studio would probably be fine. A couch, a crib, a hotplate. Does she really "need" more than that?

This way we can all be sure that those receiving government benefits are never spending them on anything the government doesnt approve of. We taxpayers have the right to know these people are scraping the bottom. Right? But there they go, living high on the hog. If these people have ten bucks to spend on a bottle of booze, or $20 to bring a nephew to see boobs on his 18th birthday... Obviously we're giving them too much money. Poor people should never, EVER forget theyre poor. Not even for a day.

Oh. I almost forgot the best part. Guess who we can use to staff the malls. Thats right, baby! That "free" ride is over! High five. Those people will never need cash and never get the opportunity to make a wrong decision. Clearly, its the best thing for everyone.

that receive the least, spending millions of dollars to do it, while the true welfare queens buy another yaht with our money?

Never, ever, forget you are poor. Sickening, isn't it? And some of the replies on your linked thread just make me want to cry at how far right DU has moved.

Thanks bunnies.

there is actually some good to the notion of having the government distribute food and cutting out the middle man, especially when we have vast food deserts in our country. I lived in MS for two years and lord knows MS did and does alot wrong. But they did one thing that was actually a terrific idea. They had local distribution points for their wic program. Once a month you went to the center, picked up a months supply of milk, juice, cereal and other covered foods (the milk was irradiated and thus could be shelf stored). Those with no transportation had the food brought to them, free of charge. This cut out the middle man which was often a high priced convenience store.
