NSA's Stellar Wind Project: Building a massive Data Center in Utah..

So didn't folks know NSA was building a massive Data Center in Utah? Why all this sudden amnesia? This information has been out for a few years. This leak, is nothing more than an another attempt to smear the Obama Administration.

How is a newspaper able to get hold of a top secret classified document?

On the bright side, this is a job creator, Big Data - Data Mining and these jobs will stay States side..

Stellar Wind is the open secret code name for certain information collection activities performed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and revealed by Thomas Tamm to The New York Times reporters James Risen and Eric Lichtblau. The operation was approved by President George W. Bush shortly after the September 11 attacks in 2001. Under President Obama this program has acquired a new name, RAGTIME. The domestic collection activity, those collection activities aimed as US citizens within the US, is code named RAGTIME-P. The P in RAGTIME-P "stands for Patriot, as in the USA Patriot Act, which authorizes the bulk data collection,"[4] upon which this program is deeply dependent.

The program's activities involve data mining of a large database of the communications of American citizens, including e-mail communications, phone conversations, financial transactions, and Internet activity.

“The Program” documentary reveals the Stellar Wind program’s highly classified nature,

Wired magazine published a piece about the NSA Utah center last year

In March 2012 Wired magazine published "The NSA Is Building the Country’s Biggest Spy Center (Watch What You Say)" talking about a vast new NSA facility in Utah and says "For the first time, a former NSA official has gone on the record to describe the program, codenamed Stellar Wind, in detail." Naming the official William Binney a former NSA code breaker. Binney goes on to say that the NSA has highly secured rooms that tap into major switches, and satellite communications at both AT&T and Verizon. The article suggests that the otherwise dispatched Stellar Wind is actually an active program.

I guess it's all right for the phone company to have the data. But oh boy, give this same data to the NSA so they can have the evidence in a criminal procedure and all hell breaks out.
