Authoritarians & authoritarianism are INCOMPATIBLE with DEMOCRACY.You Cannot have democracy where there are authoritarians trying to control people lives and push them out of politics and keep them ignorant and lie, likewise authoritarianism cannot exist alongside a bold, radical, morally aware ,emotionally mature, well informed, compassionate, yet intolerant of the intolerable, educated, open, transparent participating citizenry with rights laws agreed upon by those citizens that apply to all ...basically that is a Democracy.
Anyone who thinks there is an excess of democracy, these days might just be an authoritarian, the ENEMY of Democracy.
Do you want a democracy? then we need to shut up the loudmouth authoritarians and shut down the authoritarianism that already has encroached too much into power.

(12,448 posts)built into the foundations of our government. Those traitorous terrorists that risked all to create this beginning understood this and built the rules of that government to resist that tendency, ironically, that's what makes it possible for a minority of authoritarians to deny the wishes of the majority and to block progress. It was our failure to take that start and continue to improve it that allowed the authoritarians to gain control over it.
The basis of our authoritarian society is coercion, force, violence. Therefore, what we need is to neuter authoritarianism, to take those tools away from them.
This, I believe, is the fundamental issue that must be addressed if we are to break this cycle of pillage. I also believe that we now have the means to achieve it.
