Ignore. And maybe

this falls under the category of whining. I am not sure.

Ignore is something you can do by just not answering a person's post. Banning, what seems to be ignoring here, is to delegate someone to "obscurity". I may not always agree with "you". And you may not always agree with "me'. But you and I both have important opinions to opine. And what they are can sway how we "both" believe. Otherwise why have a site of opinions. But a person needs to be open minded and if you put me on ignore or I do the same back, when do we ever see each other's opinions. Very important opinions. I have to say I have changed my mind a bunch after listening to other's ideas. I am a smarter person because of that. Personally I do not have anyone on ignore. Don't get me wrong, there are people who really piss me off. I would rather hear them than not. I now have 11 star members ignoring me. So what do they learn? Nothing. Maybe it is arrogant to think I have something to offer, but I think I do. And I think you do too. But if you ignore me, there is no back and forth. I am not always as nice as I should be, but disrespect me and I get down right rude protecting my integrity.

in my head with your shoes on please make sure you wipe them off first
Seriously, you could have read my mind with this post because it echoes my thoughts exactly.

The more I read from others the more humbled I feel as I come to terms with my own ignorance and limitations in knowledge. Ignoring others would only serve to keep me in my own little moronic bubble. That being said, I think many would prefer to stay in their bubbles. Perhaps, to do otherwise would render them feeling insecure and exposed. I don't know, but I feel that a respectful debate of ideas can only serve to enrich us all, JMHO

I was wondering if there were others who felt like I did. I had gone to the transparency page and there are 11 people ignoring me. But that is just a small percentage of the people here on DU. My problem with even that small percentage is that it leaves a gap in the discussion. They could be posting on the same thread as I am and not even see what I have to say. And then my learning experience is limited. And that may be selfish, but how am I to learn if no response is forth coming.

I am sure we will be talking and crossing paths and hopefully learning from each other. Later. back at you.
