Raise your hand if you didn't suspect our data is being monitored.

If you are one of those who are *shocked* by the supposed revelation, then where were you when Bush was playing dictator? Where were you when Congress passed the Patriot Act?

And if you did know then, were you led to believe that Obama stopped it? At any point during his first term, or this one?

Snowden and his character are irrelevant. The revelation isn't a revelation at all.

This 'monitoring' has been happening for a long time, yet we the people have chosen to do nothing.

So why did he deny it if it was such public knowledge?

why should we have otherwise known that it was happening?

It's all old news? I'm not buying that.

The timing of this NSA article doesn't mean shit.

I could care less if it was written yesterday or twenty years ago.

You can't rationalize the policy just because of how long it has been in place. You don't justify it because "folks shoulda known better".

I like the fact that the issue is "front in center" and I don't care how it got there. The bottom line is that it is currently in the public consciousness and that is a very good thing.

It is more important to me than the credibility of current Democratic leadership. They can own it for all I care. For no other reason than that it might be Kryptonite for the next batch of Democratic leaders.
