I don't Remember Democrats here supporting the Patriot act when it was signed.

Whats changed? If your convictions change simply because you like the guy enforcing something you never liked in the first place what is it you really stand for? I know its old news i have been angry about it for years but this is a opportunity to put a stop to it lets take it.

I like Obama and i think hes a good president but hes never going to convince me to like the patriot act and what it entails,of course hes far less to blame then the American public who allowed this to happen but to suddenly support intrusions on our constitutional rights because you like a guy i just cant wrap my head around that. This should bother us all regardless who the president is.

Arguments like google has my info etc. well not only did you volunteer that info to google as your right but google cant lock you up or accuse you of anything. Has history showed you nothing? I don't fear a obama administration spying on us, I fear a future radical republican president spying on us who will not listen to our objections of his powers, nows the time to end this before it goes to far.

like Alan Grayson.

this should be quite an easy issue to organize around. there's already momentum. there's clear goals. there's plenty of folks willing to work for it. the media is interested. and history is on our side.

easy peasy.

obama does not come from the elite social class, he was smart and got the right resume for success in this culture and he got hired in to the elite social class - he will do anything to make sure he does not become a non-elite.

who wouldn't?

I'm not overly concerned with President Obama here. I am overly concerned with President Jeb Bush. Or President Chris Christie. Or (if Zeus is feeling particularly cruel) President Rick Santorum. Not to mention their sure to be whackadoodle VPs should something terrible happen.

that's neither here nor there since this just adds to the thousands of posts adding to the sound and fury signifying nothing.

I don't fear any of them, at least not for this kind of crap. I lived through COINTELPRO and was accused of un-American behavior shortly before I received a clearance while in the Signal Corps.

It all ends up being a cruel joke, but it keeps people employed.

Ever since bush JR's selection i just don't post often, but i read everyday took some time off when politics got to me and forgot my original accounts password so thats why i have this newer account. Just remember power concedes nothing if you think they wont go further to "protect us" in the future you haven't been paying attention to the whole of human history.

Well meaning security freaks will continue to ask for more power to save us,if we never say no then one day we wake up with no liberty. I know it sounds all hyperbolic and it never starts out as nefarious. it just ends up being nefarious by circumstance its rarely ever intentional even though foresight makes it seem that way.

K&R

... is another War that needs to go. Close Gitmo, repeal the Patriot Act and all the other strong arm tactics and laws I can't pull out of my head at the moment. Stop spying on the American people without an effing warrant. We're not ALL a bunch of criminals. If Congress and the MIC wants to snoop on someone, start in DC. That's where you'll find a bunch of corrupt criminal effing traitors. Investigate your effing selves! There's enough of yuz, you could stay busy till the end of effing time. This country needs to take a sharp left turn real quick and get back to the basics of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Damn right. "Constitutional Fundamentalism" forever. (Someone actually used that term the other day to criticize anyone who is devoted to the Constitution!) Facepalm and rant off.
