"Round up the usual suspects."

I do not trust Law Enforcement. I know that there are good cops; I know one or two. I also know a couple of douche bag cops and have had my share of encounters with both types.

There are definitely cops out there who have the attitude, "he's guilty of something anyway" so it really doesn't matter if he gets locked up for one that he didn't do.

Then there's the need to "pin it on someone" to close the case.

... we aren't even talking about framing someone because they are a business or political enemy, 'cause there's that too.

Well guess what... now they have access to tons of data about all of us and they have secret software to tell them who should be suspected of wrong-doing. Now we are ALL "the usual suspects" and can be targeted for any of above reasons.

Maybe a bomb goes off in some city somewhere. Let's pin it on a group of striking workers, environmentalists or occupiers. Even if they didn't do it, we get to kill two birds with one stone - the public gets to see us get the bad guys and we get to intimidate the hell out of citizens that are rocking the boat. Hell, why not have some secret agent set off the bomb just so that we can blame it on the subversives.
