Trayvon Martin murder trial jury to be sequestered: judge

(Reuters) - The jury in the racially-charged Trayvon Martin case in Florida will be sequestered during the murder trial of the neighborhood watchman who killed the unarmed black teenager, the judge ruled on Thursday.

Seating an impartial jury in the trial of George Zimmerman in a central Florida court may not be as problematic as many had initially feared, despite blanket media coverage that captivated the United States for much of 2012.

The search for potential jurors who claim they know little or nothing at all about the shooting has been moving slowly after jury selection began on Monday in Seminole County criminal court.

But in a sign of progress, some potential jurors said they knew the basic outlines of the case and needed to be prodded by lawyers to recall any specific details.

1. They need to be hidden when going in or out, and make sure NO ONE follows them...and NO cell phones

and they need to make 100% sure that the jury is somehow shaded from anyone in the room who might have a cellphone.

It is way too easy to snap a cellphone pix.

2. Hold the trial on a secret train - blacked out windows, with sleeper cars for the witnesses

jurors lawyers and judge - the train never stops moving until the trial ends. It just does a big loop.

I was going to suggest they put them in an airplane that never lands, but that seemed impractical.

3. Anyone within 5 miles of court with NRA sticker, gun promoting signs, confederate flags, etc.,

should be charged with jury tampering/intimidation. Just my opinion. Jails would be full.

As long as the jurors stick to the facts and proper jury instruction. No problemo.

If the Judge doesn't do her job right, well, that's what the appeals process for.

I've been looking at the transcripts of the jury selection process live. Looking good so far. Better than i expected.



as far as real justice? nope. damage has been done to all concerned. Can't be put back.

8. I saw some coverage today. Potential jurrors were talking about Mr. Martin being a street fighter

and smoking dope.

The Defense succeeded in getting that out there.
