Are You Ready to Expand Our Involvement in Military Conflict in the Middle East?

Here we go again.
Syria. The Red Line. Chemical Weapons.
We don't even know who the "good guys" are here. But there are people in this country are pressuring the government to get us involved. Why does what John McCain have to say matter? He was defeated!

Does anybody really think that we can do this on a small scale?

http://www.humanrights.gov/2013/06/13/statement-on-syrian-chemical-weapons-use/
"Our ntelligence community has high confidence in that assessment given multiple, independent streams of information."

Haven't we heard something like that before?
"He has weapons of mass destruction. At one time we know for certain he was close to having a nuclear weapon. Imagine Saddam Hussein with a nuclear weapon. Not only has he got chemical weapons, but I want you to remember, he's used chemical weapons." --G. W. Bush

It's time to speak out now!

by lots making big $$$$$. Often I think the US stokes the embers of hostilities so the MIC makes big $$$$$. It's a ridiculous clusterfuck that goes on and on, politicians come and go, but the clusterfuck continues. Lots of $$$$$ is too good to give up, and shareholders rally for more $$$$$. And we have the congressional revolving door between corporations, politicians and lobbyists, etc. ... so we can't look to them to stop it ... again, too much $$$$$ is to be made and at stake. $$$$$ first, people last.

Under the guise of a military exercise, so few people would notice a military build up...just like Bush Sr. had troops lined up at the Kuwaiti border waiting for the go ahead to attack Saddam.

U.S. to keep military forces in Jordan: official

The United States will keep F-16 fighter jets and Patriot anti-missile weapons in Jordan after a joint military exercise ends this month, a US defense official said Thursday.

The US administration, which is weighing a decision to arm rebels fighting in neighboring Syria’s civil war, also planned to keep a unit of US Marines on amphibious ships off the coast after consultations with Jordanian leaders, the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The warplanes, anti-missile systems and warships had been sent to Jordan for a major exercise, dubbed Eager Lion, but officials decided to keep the troops and weapons in place on the request of Jordan, which is anxious about a spillover of violence and a growing influx of refugees from the conflict.

“It was decided the assets would remain in place,” said the official.

The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit taking part in the drill consists of about 2,400 troops, which arrived in a group of three amphibious ships, including the USS Kearsarge.

geopolitical instability presents tons of moneymaking opportunities:

* asset confiscation

* money laundering (through government contracting)

* creating volatility in oil futures, with increased prices at the pump and more oil profits

make no mistake: permanent war is here to stay as long as there is money to be made for the 1%

We see ourselves as the great and powerful world police, not as the world's bridge builder or educator.

There is a huge pool of 'mainstream' Americans who reject evolution but see brutal social Darwinism as the solution to motivating the poor, the elderly and the infirm into healthy self-reliance.
