The NSA Spying on Americans is a betrayal...

Just as Snowden's running off to China is cowardly.

I'd have more respect for my government if they had owned up to this program. I don't require knowing everything about it, but I do require those we elect to know all about it. Our government had an obligation and it failed...miserably, IMO.

I would also have more respect for Snowden had he not ran off at the first opportunity (after only a couple of months of work) and go to China of all places to turn on the US. I'd respect his actions more had he stayed in the country he proclaimed to love. Instead, he runs away. It's inexcusable conduct on his part and there is no justifying it, IMO.

I see nothing good about any of this. The entire thing is repugnant to me.

Running from a certain supermaxing isn't cowardly. It's common sense. backscatter712 Jun 2013 #1

But Snowden's revelations should have more of an impact on policy. dkf Jun 2013 #7

I'd do the same thing. Who wants to end up supermaxed like Bradley Manning?

No one knows what would have or could have happened.

Anyway, going to China of all places speaks louder than anything, IMO.

Snowden would have to be stupid to not get the hell out of Dodge after revealing the NSA's unconstitutional dirty laundry.

Manning's actions had far more severe consequences, IMO.

There is no way Manning is more significant. I don't even know exactly what he exposed.

I doubt they could have found anything.

They are trying to collect too much, we don't have the ability to recall this stuff so quickly, I doubt they are even storing a lot of it. I am sorry, it just seems like doing real spy work is harder but more rewarding.
