"If you want to be a good Christian, you got to beat your wife!"
It's just because their husbands love them, and want them to be perfect for Jesus!
On a pain scale of one to 10, Chelsea ranks the epidural-free birth of her child as a six. Her husbands spankings? Those are an eight.
First, he uses his hands for warm-up slaps. Then comes a combination of tools based on the specific infraction. The wooden spoon is the least severe; for the worst rule-breakinglike texting while driving (It could kill me, Chelsea admits) or moving money between accounts without his permissionshell be hit with something else: a hairbrush, a paddle, or a leather strap.
But this isnt domestic abuse, Chelsea says. This is for Jesus.
Chelsea and her husband Clint, who asked that I use only their first names, belong to a small subculture of religious couples who practice Christian Domestic Discipline, a lifestyle that calls for a wife to be completely submissive to her husband. Referred to as CDD by its followers, the practice often includes spanking and other types corporal punishments administered by husbandsand ostensibly ordained by God.

(3,232 posts)to make them perfect for Jesus. So Jesus wants his worshipers full of bruises and welts in his name and this will somehow please their God and make "her" a better Christian? So when their male child sees this abuse at home, and practices it himself on the playground or in school, what do they say to him about why it's wrong to hit other people, after all, daddy hits mommy all the time and she seems to be ok. WTF if right.

(1,941 posts)I'm imagining the guy in a leather daddy outfit with a big ol' cross on his codpiece. Cue lyrics to Type O Negative, Christian Woman. She wants to love God. Feel her God deep inside of her.

(67,108 posts)have "In God we Trust" license plates upon request, so I imagine a few "Spanking for God" bumper stickers will go good with that ... that is, if they can fit them between the crosses and fish already there.

(65,616 posts)remember, 'spare the rod and spoil the child'. Notice that is a ROD and not a belt or paddle. Rebar is a modern day rod. So beat your kids and wife with a staff or a huge stick. Makes them better people according to Proverbs.
