Obama administration defers to security for Africa trip costs; Skips Kenya

President Barack Obama next week makes the first extended trip to Africa of his presidency, but he won't be stopping at the country of his birth.

Obama is not visiting Kenya during the week-long trip June 26-July 3 he is taking with his wife Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia to tour the continent and signal the United States' interest in trade, democracy and economic development in Africa.
