People being called "racist" over a very legitimate issue is NOT humorous and I hope the OP demonstrates just how absurd it truly has become.

It was all about this singular issue, then you're contributing to the absurdity.

I never was a fan of southern cooking. It's nothing against the good people of the south but let's face facts: they eat heavy, usually greasy food. Rare is the day I'll have fried chicken. Pecan pie is too rich for me and biscuits sit in me like large stones.

There must be something wrong with me.

You're right. Southern cooking is basically fried everything. It contributes to the obesity epidemic down there.

I don't miss most of it. To be honest I'm a son of the south that doesn't like gravy, grits, or any of the more "esoteric" parts of a pig.

But goddamn I miss me some country ham.

ETA And I've been known to eat an entire chess pie in one sitting.

When Paula Deen is caught throwing *that* n-bomb and being a genuine nasty piece of work to her workers, especially minorities, and pining for the antebellum days of slavery, the chorus goes "Oh, you should cut her a break! She wasn't really racist, she's just ignorant!"

But when we dare criticize Pres. Obama and the NSA for unconstitutional wiretapping and surveillance, all of the sudden, we're racists who moonlight in white sheets!

Ain't that fucking amazing?

said you should cut her a break? I've seen maybe 2 people say that--with the exception of the newest OP--and the new OP ain't no fan of Obama.

So where is that chorus, I'd like to give them a piece of my mind.
