I am not very impressionable. I'm not inspired by speeches. Politicians and religious leaders spouting from their pulpits leave me cold and suspicious. It might be the result of experiencing too many hypocritical "sermons" in my younger years, or it might be because I was, from the beginning, raised on critical thinking.

When a politician says the right thing, and then backs it up with action WHEN IT COUNTS, then he or she can earn a positive assessment from me.
