Feds, LA Narcs Teaching NorCal Cops How to Raid Dispensaries

Californians legalized cannabis for medical use in 1996, but that doesn't mean California's cops and their federal patrons just decided to respect state law. Quite the opposite; the 18-month-long crackdown on medical cannabis outlets in California has been a joint effort, with local marijuana foes doing most of the work of their Washington, D.C. funders.

Finding loopholes in Prop 215, SB 420, and numerous court cases spelling out medical cannabis patients' rights isn't easy. To that end, the feds and the California Narcotic Officers' Association is in Alameda County today teaching cops how to most effectively harass medical cannabis dispensaries, growers and patients, Legalization Nation has learned.

The CNOA is hosting a class on “Storefront Marijuana Sales and Cultivation Investigations” today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services in Dublin. The class is jointly sponsored by the U.S. Office of the Drug Czar, known as the ONDCP.

“This course is designed to assist law enforcement and prosecutors in understanding the intricacies of the ever evolving legal arena of Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Cultivation sites,” a CNOA advertisement reads.

and the government are behind the eight ball on. They have no idea what kind of public relations nightmare this is going to become. People have been defying the law for decades now. Do they honestly think people are going to stop now that it is legal? Are they really that stupid? I know they are that greedy. That's one thing for sure.

Your federal tax dollars pay for the DEA to do this stuff.

Your federal tax dollars pay for grants to local law enforcement to fight more drug war.

Then your federal and state tax dollars pay to prosecute, judge, jail, and supervise these "drug offenders."

There are literally tens of thousands of people working in the criminal justice system--not to mention the drug treatment industry--who are literally bringing home a paycheck doing this worse than useless crap. And they're pretty good at protecting their vested interests.
