WASHINGTON National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, believed to be in legal limbo in the Moscow airport, expanded his requests for asylum to 21 countries, including China and 13 European nations, according to WikiLeaks, but his options seemed to be narrowing on Tuesday.

WikiLeaks legal adviser Sarah Harrison delivered the requests for asylum to an official at the Russian consulate at the Moscow airport on Sunday, according to the website. WikiLeaks said some of the requests had already been delivered to the appropriate embassies ...

and that simply can't be true. We've eliminated country-of-origin asylum through embassies in 2009. And he is not in imminent danger of being killed so he can't get through the loophole.

Plus we'd throw him in jail for his illegal stint in Geneva...

Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan president, said Snowden "deserves the world's protection".

...

"We think this young person has done something very important for humanity, has done a favour to humanity, has spoken great truths to deconstruct a world … that is controlled by an imperialist American elite," he said.
