Zimmerman asked him if he had any regrets about anything that happened that night. if he said yes he would have, imho, admitted to some culpability. His dodge was the incident was "part of God's plan."

I've heard people say this to grieving mothers when a child dies, or when a mother miscarries. Somebody said that to me when my older sister died at 45 leaving two kids without a parent.
