Koch as the AHs that keep trying to buy our gov't?
I ask because I tuned into NOVA tonight on PBS to watch a shopw about the origin of dogs and how they relate to humans. When the show started it said "brought to you by the David Koch Foundation." I love some of the shows on PBS and this one tonight is no exception, but I would hate to find out that the sponsor of something like this is the same idiots that I detest!

(115,839 posts)which I kind of don't understand because the Kochs are infamously anti-science (at least to the extent science argues for global climate change and against fracking). Maybe they are trying to make people believe they aren't fascist assholes?

(75,480 posts)support the arts. It's what rich people are supposed to do. That's why they are so against government support of things like that. They really believe charities, churches and non-profit organizations, which they contribute to, are supposed to do all the heavy lifting. We all know it doesn't work because someone needy is always left out in the cold with this system.

(75,480 posts)it's why their news programs are only slightly less biased than Fox News. Gotta keep the major funders happy ya know! I don't know how we would fix this other than out spending them on donations.

(2,252 posts)He recently donated $35 Million to the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History, to build a new dinosaur exhibit.
The donation by David H. Koch, the executive vice president of Koch Industries Inc. of Wichita, Kan., is the single largest gift in the museum's 102-year history. The Smithsonian Board of Regents voted Monday to name the new dinosaur hall in Koch's honor.
<snip>
In 2009, Koch gave the Smithsonian $15 million to build a new exhibit hall exploring human evolution over 6 million years. The museum's Hall of Human Origins also was named in his honor, tying in with another area that interests Koch.
The dinosaur wing at the American Museum of Natural History in New York was named "The David H. Koch Dinosaur Wing" after he donated another $35 Million to the AMNH. The American Museum's dinosaur exhibit is just incredible. If you haven't visited, go.
David Koch a bit of a contradictory personality.
Koch said he's fascinated by the subject of climate change and believes the public should learn more about it.
"There's debate, of course, as to how much of the warming is caused by human activity vs. just the natural cycles in the climate fluctuations of the globe," he said.
Right. Very right.
