A few articles on why Santorum is a nutcase

Rick Santorum Takes His Turn as a Flip-Flopper
By Donald Pennington

This story comes from the Yahoo! Contributor Network, where individuals publish their unique perspectives on some of the world’s most popular websites.

COMMENTARY | Presidential candidate Rick Santorum strikes me as the guy at the party who, after spilling wine in a drunken accident on the hostess' favorite dress, is trying too hard to show everyone how cool he is. The problem is all of the party attendees have already deduced he's just drunk. At this point we're just tolerating him to prevent causing a scene.
At some parts of the party, which is an analogy for the campaign trail, Santorum is occupied with explaining that somehow his stance on contraceptives isn't really about women's rights, in a report from International Business Times. He's against them because somehow their use in preventing unwanted pregnancy is an attack on the Constitution.

The closest I can guess he means is that somehow "religious freedom" only applies to religious institutions and not to the individuals within a society. Somebody has to have an "official" position as a religious authority before their own religious beliefs are considered valid, I guess. Since when does the agenda of an institution trump the religious liberties of an individual?

ABC News coverage shows how the GOP is letting Santorum enjoy "his turn at the top ," as the GOP flavor of the week. Gosh, he must feel special right about now. It will actually be fascinating to let Rick Santorum air his views on the campaign trail -- fascinating like a train wreck.

As the candidate realizes America doesn't want crazy-eyed religious extremism, praying for Armageddon, sitting in the White House with their trembling finger on the button, he's now pretending to be a more moderate Republican and walking all over his poor wife in the process. Am I the only one who noticed he's the only author listed on "It Takes a Family?" I can't be.

Rick Santorum Pledges to Wage War on… Birth Control?

So, according to presidential hopeful Rick Santorum <http://www.inquisitr.com/192308/rick-santorum-raises-1-million-in-24-hours/>, using birth control just ain’t gonna cut it.

In a recent interview, Santorum explained that the use of contraceptives is wrong… MORALLY… and furthermore, it is a danger to the country. The video in which he makes these crazy statements is from an interview in October with the evangelical blog Caffeinated Thoughts, and it’s making crazy rounds in the blogosphere today. In the video, Santorum insists that as president, he’d confront the “dangers of contraception” and the majority of religious groups who’ve given their approval for it.

In the man’s own words:

“It’s not OK, because it’s a license to do things in the sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be,” he says. “They’re supposed to be within marriage, for purposes that are, yes, conjugal… but also procreative. “

Among reactions in the blogosphere, Matt Lewis of the Daily Caller called Santorum’s comments an “October Surprise,” adding that this “was not a mistake or gaffe”. Michael Scherer of Time was quick to remind that only 8% of voters view the use of contraceptives as morally wrong, wondering what Santorum could hope to gain from this stance. Scherer wrote:

“In politics, it is generally not a good thing to characterize something nearly every adult in the country has happily used as wrong”.

Lastly, Connor Friesdorf of the Atlantic called the interview “baffling,” saying that “Any politician who regards the adult use of contraceptives as a matter under his purview cannot lay claim to the limited government label.”

his wife might not have so many "headaches"!

I can't imagine being married to him. Why does he feel he has to analyze sex so much? He's hiding something in his past.
