Chris Matthews: Rush Limbaugh's Comments 'Is An Astounding Assault on Women's Rights'

MSNBC host Chris Matthews harshly criticized conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh over comments he made on Tuesday regarding Democrats and abortion.

On his radio show, Limbaugh wondered why contraceptives were considered what he called "a must-have," in comparison to toothpaste or a car. He also questioned why people, specifically Democrats, are afraid of birth. "Could it be that Democrats fear kids?" he wondered. "I mean, they are aborting their own people. The vast majority of people having abortions are Democrat voters."

Matthews took umbrage at Limbaugh's comments. During his MSNBC show on Wednesday, Matthews said that Limbaugh's comments were "an astounding assault on women's rights." He added that Limbaugh's comments were a "weird kind of message" and sounded like what Matthews called "the hatred of women."

Matthews said, "I don't care what language he uses about aborting and all that. He's basically saying, me, this big guy...is telling women there's something wrong with you in deciding whether you want kids or not. He's been married four times without kids. I wonder if birth control had something to do with it. it's a joke!" As Matthews' guests jumped in and began debating Limbaugh's comments, Matthews asserted, "We should have more women on the show. Right now."

Make no mistake... Limbaugh hates everyone but he really hates women. The man is an overall menace to society.

That is there reasoning. First, no one, especially a Talking Head MAN (pun), has the right to tell any woman she must have kids, or how many. I have no right to tell any other WOMAN that. MY choice was to have two children. NO MORE. If another woman wants NONE or 19 that is her business, but nobody, man or woman, has the right to tell me I HAVE TO HAVE NINETEEN.

Fear kids? I CHOSE to teach and care for other people's children because I CARE about kids. I just didn't want a quiverful of MY OWN.

When I hear people say things like this, it makes me think. What is the REAL reason these people, who have none of there own, want to force others to have kids????? Because they themselves can't?

How can these people who are so anti-choice on abortion, be so adamant against contraception? You cannot abort something that is conceived in the first place.

By the way, have you stopped cruising the gay neighborhoods?

In May 2004 Rush's third wife, Marta, grew tired of never
having sex with her allegedly closeted homosexual of a
husband, and so asked for a divorce. Limbaugh complied after his
desperate wife agreed to never reveal the true nature of Rush's
sexual perversion.

And his sham marraiges with monetary compensation for public appearances paid as part of their pre-nup do not reality make.
