Northern Wisconsin Democrat Bob Jauch, whose district includes the site of a proposed iron ore mine, was a member of the now disbanded committee.

"This is a simple sell out to the mining company" - Sen. Bob Jauch

The assembly bill is the companies bill and Fitzgerald want to "ram it through"

You have to listen to the audio.

This is the same horsecrap we hear wrt fracking.

Clock run out, my ass.

Really? You're telling me it's now, I mean right now, gotta be, now or never, one time offer... fuck you.

As IF there won't be someone ready and willing to pillage whatever part of the earth you're offering up at any given moment. Please.

Really? You've got a profitable resource and you're worried about missing some sort of one-time great thing? Here's a newsflash: they may be outsourcing jobs to countries all the way across the globe, and they're gung ho for their resources to, but while they may find the American worker unattractive, I guarantee you they will *never* find "stuff they can make a profit on" unappealing in any day and age.

They keep using this excuse as some sort of compelling argument against proper environmental study and thorough consideration by an informed electorate. One hopes it is as transparent as it should be. I know it's just a game to them, but I really hate people who can say things that are this patently dishonest with a straight face.
