"keep one foot on the floor" rule for students visiting the dorm rooms of opposite-sex students. Visiting hours were highly restricted and you also had to keep the door propped open with a book.

I was whomper-jawed. This was the late seventies/early eighties, and I was living in a coed dorm, with no restrictions, at a different school.
