Contraception seems to be this election cycle's Republican-manufactured "social issue". The problem for Republicans, of course, is that contraception is mainstream, widely supported, widely adopted, healthy, and responsible. This anti-contraception stance is so bankrupt of any common sense that the Republicans have no one to make common cause with except a global child rape organization. This needs to stick to the Republican party, and it needs to be brought up over and over and over. They'll try to run from this soon. Don't let them. They own it, and I want to watch them slip below the waves for the last time while clinging to it.

Republicans swarm and attack like flesh eating fish...they always go after what they perceive (even if not true atm) as the weakest and easiest target to smear, slur, deface, destroy...it is their MO. GO after the most vulnerable in society. Divide them, make the issue convoluted and only attack those that are a danger to the GOP. Women are a danger to the GOP, even their coma-like stepford wives could come out of the dillusion at any moment. It is their war on everything woman and their constant attack on the female persona in America. Destroy the character of something then make it into an object to be subjegated. MO, SOP. The GOP is a Good O' Boys club and they want to keep it that way. In America. For all white men.

There are some similarities seen here....

For all that the Republicans decry the Taliban, they seem to be adopting some of their views...

The Southern Baptist Convention's belief system includes the statement that women must be subject to their husbands. The SBC has also made a marriage of convenience with the Catholics (whom they otherwise detest) in this war against women.

There are other religious groups involved, as well - these two are just have the largest memberships in the U.S.

Waging war on women is at least as important as demonizing gay people and extracting money from credulous church-goers.

Females make up 52% of the registered voters in the USA. The more education a woman has, the more likely she is to vote Democratic, and the more likely she is to limit the size of her family via birth control.

In other words, GOP, you just flushed your chances of any kind of majority in the House, Senate, and winning the Presidency for quite some time.

It's not gays (cause too many people favor rights for them).

It's not guns (cause Obama was so smart by never even saying the word, Gun)

Congrats and welcome to the Year of the Vagina Wars. I'd like to suggest a way for women to end this controversy once and for all. Cut all of us men off from sex until you get everything you want (equal pay, equal rights.....)
