Greedy Mother-Fuckers, Leading the Quasi-Fascists, Followed by Morons Who Believe Everything

they are told.

Sound harsh? Tough shit. It’s nothing compared to the country these people are creating for the rest of us. I’m talking about those who ship American factories overseas by the tens of thousands to exploit cheep labor in the third world and shrink the middle class in their own country. They should be in prison for the horrible conditions they force upon those working in places like Columbia and Bangladesh, all while rationalizing their criminal greed. They should be tried and imprisoned for what they’ve done to our working and middle classes. And they should have to forfeit their profits to feed and house those they have stolen from.

They are willing to start wars based on lies for bigger profits. They buy our politicians like others buy appliances. The massive spying is not about terrorists, it’s about money. With Iraq and Afghanistan wars ending the military-industrial complex needs to be fed. We’re talking hundreds of billions a year, spread out between the federal, states and local governments. Drones to spy on us, from the type that can stay in the air for months spying on entire cities, to the insect size drones that that can entire our houses undetected. From the license plate readers on cop cars that track drivers’ movements and store the data forever; to the massive collection of all our electronic communications. Big Brother really is here and it’s going to get progressively worse every year until we rein this in. The technology will come and can’t be stopped, the only thing that can stop this is for the citizens to say, ‘enough!’ and demand the laws change.

They’ve bought our democracy/republic and no one should be okay with that. We need a government that actually works for us and not just those with deep pockets. It’s time for public funding of campaigns, before it’s too late.

“The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.”

John Kenneth Galbraith

As soon as I feel like we can fix things I see a story on the news about someone with a great amount of power abusing that power and hurting others.

Also, I <3 Vonnegut. He's one of my favorite writers.

Why should the media make a killing every campaign season? They have done it long enough. The public owns the airwaves, we should just require free time for elections as a condition of licensing.

That's for starters.

The best solution...that would take the money out of politics because they would not need all those campaign contributions and if they took money from them it would be a bribe clear an simple.

But face it, because the media makes big bucks off of it, the more contentious the better for them...it encourages bad behavior.

the money is out of politics. Media is toward the top of that list.

I agree we need to fix the media, but the FCC and congress will not act in our interests until media corporations can't fund their elections. (And give the FCC board jobs a week after they leave the board.)

As for the change of heart with some on the right, makes me ill. Just like those on the left who have changed their position. It's obvious hypocrisy with both sides. I respect only those who respect reality and their own ideals.

Prior to the last Presidential election people finally seemed to have had it with the corpocracy. Anger from the middle to as far left as you can go before turning right. With the current, unbelievable, attack on our rights I think so much is so far gone that we're too disjointed to fight with results.

The war on women has spread to every nook and cranny in the country. If anyone stuck an object in a woman's vagina without her consent it would be called rape. But the State has made it law if a woman wants to control her body.

State Constitutional bans on marriage equality have passed or in the works.

Religion and religious beliefs, fairy tales, are being taught as fact in public schools.

Gun laws (or lack thereof) have allowed for people to carry weapons in bars ,on school property.

The list is endless. Frightening. Unreal. And almost all aimed at controlling the populace for corporations to gain income. Those "persons" that follow a law of their own.

And as you said, 20Score, the end of this insanity will only be possible if we start with election reform.
