A Disgusting Play on Patriotism

Hit the link below, front page of New York Times...let the ad show, do not collapse it. Look briefly. Bank of America supports veterans.
The colors glare at you. Red, White and Blue. The Bank of America's colors. odd. Who else has those colors?. Where do we see those colors? In the American Flag. Nice of the Bank of American to show an American Flag in its ad. Is Bank of America claiming that it is patriotic? More patriotic than other banksters and big banks? What is a patriotic bank? Does a patriotic bank break banking rules or the law? Does it cheat consumers? Look for yourself. Hit that link. Is a person more patriotic if they put their money at Bank of America or a credit union? ..Aren't you glad that the Bank of America is telling us that it is "patriotic" and... That ad at the New York Times, Front Page is not free. nope

1. While I agree that Bank of America has been a bastard bank lately

I'm not sure this is news; the flag or some variation of it has been part of their logo since I can remember. One presumes it's either because they want to distinguish themselves as particularly American or the founders were particularly patriotic and wanted to include that symbolism in their design.

3. It is indeed nothing new..still I wanted to show all this particular ad

I guess this one is more disgusting than other ads using Red White and Blue. At least this one is more disgusting to me. Kinda goes over the line with the flag, and all the veterans stuff in the ad. But perhaps these companies always go over the line with the way they act toward the population they serve. Still this one is the most obvious I think I have ever seen.

4. During the Bush/Kerry election, Advance Auto Parts had a patriotic ad in which a red and blue map

of the US turned all red, while flags waved and patriotic songs blared. It was quite puke worthy.
