the imo seminal song of the hair band generation(my generation)it's time to fight the system

It's time we smack the fucking 1%ers in the face hard.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Corporate profits are at an all time high.
Social costs minus SS are at a 40 year low.

Tax rates for the wealthiest are at a 70 year low and they cry they are being overburdened?

ENOUGH

It's time that all the different social and economic justice groups quit arguing amongst themselves and lay the hammer on the system that makes us working stiffs live with ever less while they get ever more.

ENOUGH INFIGHTING!

WE NEED MASSIVE GENERAL STRIKES!!

It's time to stop this corporate shit while we still can.

Call for a nationwide strike the day AFTER labor day as a protest day.

It's time we take our country back.

I'm chuckling to myself just imagining it.

I'm in, but I have to admit that I'm pretty much boycotting pretty much everything already. However, yes I can make that 100%, anytime with no problem.

Labor Day +1 Strike!

You're quite right, that's what it would take. We do need to pull together, and start getting our point across.

From your post, it sounds like it's at least worth a look, so I'll play it when I have a chance.

Pardon me if I don't want to interrupt it and drop everything RIGHT F'ING NOW on your say-so.

I made a positive reply expressing interest in your video, and you somehow misinterpreted that and came back with an inappropriate reply to me.

No hard feelings, and good on you for reconsidering. I think we had a similar misunderstanding over a Mister Rogers post a while back, and we recovered.

I think we'll survive this, too. And yes, we are on the same side of the coin here.

playing videos of protest songs might not be the best idea right now. Just a thought.

This video fascinates me. You can see it catch on. At the beginning, very few people knew the words, and they're uninvolved. You can see people wondering if it's for real or a joke, or what. People thinking "I can't believe he just said that". By the end, people are on their feet and know the words, and they have attitude that they didn't come there with. And it didn't stop there, both the song and the attitude kept going after the concert was over. (Well, lots of songs kept going, but this was one of them -- the place was Woodstock, August 1969.)

I don't mean to tell you what you already know, it's for the benefit of younger folks who might not.

If you want to bring down the system, it will take a general strike longer than a day. You also need a concrete set of demands, or a definite group of people you want in charge instead of the present federal and state governments and legislatures.
